Meet the Union Plus Team

Union Plus staff are dedicated to serving union families. Staff are members of the Office of Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) Local 2.

We take pride in our staff longevity — nearly half of Union Plus employees have been with the organization for 10 years or more. A quarter of our staff have been with Union Plus and Union Privilege for 20+ years serving union members.

Mitch Stevens

Mitch Stevens is the President and CEO of Union Plus. Under Mitch’s leadership, the Union Plus team has launched several new products and services including launching a new mortgage company created to serve union members.

Prior to joining Union Plus, Mitch was responsible for managing the financial products and services available to the 38 million members of AARP. Mitch’s career in financial services spans over 25 years and includes senior management positions at AARP, American Express, First Manhattan Consulting Group, Washington Mutual and entrepreneurial ventures. Mr. Stevens earned his MS in Aeronautical Engineering from The George Washington University and his BS in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of California at Davis.


Jill leads union outreach and communications for Union Plus, building on her extensive background as a union communicator. Prior to joining the team at Union Plus, Jill led the communications department for the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union where she developed the union’s message and communications strategy to help workers and their allies effectively tell their stories – on stage, on network news, on social media, and on Capitol Hill. She also worked at a boutique public relations and strategic communications firm that works with nonprofit organizations and issue campaigns. Earlier in her career, Jill led the communications work for Chicago-based Interfaith Worker Justice where she built strong relationships with reporters covering social justice and faith-based advocacy. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder.

Lance Curry is the Director of Administration at Union Plus where he manages the day to day operations of the organization. He has been on staff for 11 years. He was instrumental in finding Union Plus’s current office location, negotiating the lease, overseeing the office space build-out and the relocation to their new site.

Amy Cybyske
Amy is responsible for the management of Union Plus’s financial services and insurance products as well as member discount programs. Amy joined Union Plus in 2006 and has held a wide range of positions throughout the organization. Before joining Union Plus, Amy worked at a non-profit healthcare advocacy organization. Amy also previously worked at an PR agency with responsibility for healthcare and higher education clients

Amy received her bachelor’s degree  from the University of Minnesota and earned her master’s degree at Tufts University.

Steve is the Controller of Union Plus. In addition to overseeing the accounting function, he manages the customer service and fulfillment departments.  Prior to joining Union Plus, he was Director of Finance at two other non-profit organizations in the Washington, D.C. area.  

Steve is an active Certified Public Accountant in the State of Maryland.  He earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University.  He is a Massachusetts native and is still waiting for an opportunity to play for the Boston Red Sox.   

Stephen Goldsmith


Eleanor has over 25 years of digital and affinity marketing experience, including acting as a digital consultant for large non-profits like UNICEF. She joined Union Plus in 1991 and, in collaboration with our program providers, Eleanor and her team are responsible for managing all direct mail, social media, mobile, paid search, email, websites and referral programs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Information Systems from American University.

Andrew heads up new product development and serves as in-house counsel.  Prior to joining Union Plus, Andrew helped coordinate Amalgamated Bank’s activities with labor unions, employee benefit funds and progressive and political organizations.  Andrew was previously an attorney for the AFSCME Florida Council.  He also worked as a law clerk in both the U.S. Senate and House, at the UFCW, and for the Bricklayers union.   Andrew is a board member (and former chair) for the New York Communities Organizing Fund, Inc. (NYCOFI).  Andrew received his juris doctorate  from George Washington University Law School and his bachelor’s degree  from Claremont McKenna College.
