Grand Prize Winner | Hometown Heroes Contest
Nadine Jones, AFA-CWA
As your Hometown Heroes Contest Grand Prize winner, AFA-CWA, Local 46 member, Nadine Jones has won $40,000 + a holiday trip for two to New York City.
is a proud member of the AFA-CWA, serving airline passengers daily. It is demanding work that often requires long hours, time away from family, and personal sacrifice. Nadine embraces that responsibility with pride because she believes serving others matters.
Her passion comes in her off hours where she proudly serving veterans, military families, and members of her community. Her foundation, the Love A Michigan Vet Project, has dedicated countless hours to helping those who have sacrificed for our nation. Through donation drives, outreach programs, community partnerships, and events supporting veterans and their families, she works to ensure that those who served are never forgotten.
First Prize Winner | Hometown Heroes Contest
Bryant Moore, IBEW
IBEW member, Bryant Moore, has won $20K as our Unions Power America Hometown Hero Contest.
Bryant is a hard-working IBEW member and the proud father of seven girls, two by marriage and five by adoption. He was diagnosed with Nystagmus or involuntary eye movement at birth which kept him from entering the military and getting a drivers license when he reached adulthood. The family’s plan was for Bryant to be a stay-at-home dad to the girls due to his condition and their individual needs. During that time, they had more than 50 children stay at least one night in their home from the foster care system.
At 37, Bryant got a new diagnosis. With specialty glasses, he could drive and he entered trade school. Bryant is still the loving, caring father that his girls need, but he’s also a maintenance electrician and he’s recently been asked to be the lead on a special project. Bryan’s story proves that with hard work, patience, and determination, anything is possible.

Gregory Miller, UA
UA member, Gregory Miller, has won $10,000 as a Second Prize winner of our Hometown Heroes Contest.
Although Gregory is often hundreds or thousands of miles away from home for work, he, along with his wife, run Magic Moments Equine Rescue where they have saved countless horses from injury, neglect, starvation, and more.
Rebecca Turner, EWV
EWV member, Rebecca Turner, has won $10,000 as Second Prize winner of our Hometown Heroes Contest.
Rebecca is a bus aide in West Virginia. Each year, she crochets hats and scarves for all of the kids and truly enjoys her job. Earlier this year, she noticed a child on the bus after school that just didn’t seem stable. She approached the child and noticed her was holding a pistol in his hand. She quickly alerted the bus driver, locked the safety in place, and ejected the magazine. Ten lives were potentially saved that day thanks to Rebecca’s calm and quick reactions.
